Mr. Birama Sidibé

Birama Sidibé has been a remarkable and effective African leader for the past 30 years. In 2017, Birama founded Agrobiotech in Mali, specializing in food and industrial crop plant cloning, dedicated to make elite plant material accessible at low costs to all farmers in Africa. 

In 5 years, the company has shipped plants and regenerated plantations across the world in Cote d’Ivoire, Chad, Jordan, Comoros and Montserrat in Latin America. A former Vice President of the African Development Bank, CEO of Shelter Africa and Vice President of the Islamic Development Bank, he is renowned by his peers for his unbendable integrity and was recognized as one of the 100 most reputable Africans in 2023. He has served in the Boards of Directors of the African Food Prize, the African Risk Capacity Group and the IFAD Investment Fund where he is tirelessly helping to shape and implement a practical agenda for African agriculture and food security. He is a member of the Africa Food Prize Committee.
